Oklahoma's Promise - Free College Tuition!
Oklahoma's Promise provides instate college tuition to students whose family income is $50,000 or less. In order to qualify, students must have an application on file by the end of their sophomore year of high school. The deadline for current juniors has expired.
Once enrolled in the program, students must take (and pass!) specific classes to remain eligible. The course requirements are very similar to the graduation requirements of Shawnee High School. In addition to maintaining a GPA of at least 2.5, students must commit to strive for excellence in areas outside of school. This means steering clear of trouble like drugs, alcohol, and crime.
You can find out more information on the Oklahoma's Promise website or by calling 800.858.1840.

Here is the Curriculum Worksheet that I will have to submit for every graduating senior enrolled in Oklahoma's Promise. Use it to determine if you have taken the correct combination of classes and met the GPA requirements. Remember, you (the student) are ultimately responsible for completing all requirements of the program.
