NEW Graduation Cord!! The P.A.C.K. Honor cord
At Shawnee High School we know that success can be measured through more than just academic achievement. We want to recognize students who are committed to SHS and who have enhanced their individual educational experience in a variety of ways. Beginning with the graduating class of 2020, seniors have the opportunity to wear a Wolf PACK honor cord if they meet one or more of the following conditions:
P – Participation
Consistent involvement in at least three clubs, organizations, activities (including sports) per year while attending SHS.
Students involved in school activities are more engaged in the community, contribute to a positive school environment, and show higher levels of school spirit.
A – Attendance
95% or better attendance all years enrolled at Shawnee High School
Good attendance is critical to success in high school. Students who make attendance a priority typically have higher academic achievement, more positive social interactions, and increased engagement in school and community activities.
C – Community Service
Volunteer a minimum of 20 hours a year in non-school related organizations or activities.
Students who give back to the community know that small acts can make a big impact. Through volunteerism, people connect with others and with the community as a whole.
K – Kindergarten Club
Student attended Shawnee Public Schools Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Students enrolled in a Shawnee Public School all 13 years with no break qualify.
Students have the responsibility to maintain records and provide proof of qualification/completion. Grade-level counselors will have specific application forms when they are made available. During the spring semester of their senior year, students can fill out an application for the Wolf PACK honor cord.
