A Letter from Dr. April Grace for SHS Families, Dec. 8, 2020
Dec. 8, 2020
Dear Shawnee High School Families,
Today, we have been faced with a substantial number of Shawnee High School staff members impacted by COVID-19 quarantine/isolation protocols. For this reason, we are needing to make the very difficult but necessary decision to move all high school students to distance learning beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 9. SHS students will continue in distance learning through the end of the semester, Friday, Dec. 18.
Students will continue their daily learning assignments in Canvas. For those students who need individual help, teachers will be available by appointment either through Zoom or in person. Students should contact their teachers through Canvas or email to schedule these appointments. No student should be on campus without an appointment.
Our nutrition services staff will continue to provide pick-up meals each distance learning day, 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the north side of the high school across from the tennis courts. This is a drive-through or walk-up pick-up option for families. Students involved in in-season athletics will be contacted by their coaches regarding any practice or game schedules.
Our goal is always to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Thank you for your support of our schools during this difficult time. For now, please continue to wear face coverings when in public or around others, remember to watch your distance, wash your hands frequently, and monitor the health of your family daily.
Stay Safe,
April Grace, Ed.D. Superintendent
