Shawnee Public Schools is proud to announce that Tyler Harrison has been named the new Head Coach of the Shawnee High School Boys Tennis program. Coach Harrison brings over a decade of experience in coaching and youth athletic development, and he is well-known across the district for his commitment to student success both on and off the court.
Since Fall 2016, Harrison has served as the Physical Education teacher at Sequoyah Elementary, where he has played a vital role in shaping the health and wellness of young students. In addition to his classroom leadership, he currently coaches football and wrestling at Shawnee, and also has a strong background in tennis, making him an ideal fit to lead the Wolves’ tennis team into its next chapter.
Shawnee Athletic Director Dax Leone expressed great confidence in the hire, "Coach Harrison is one of the most genuine and respected educators in our district. He brings deep knowledge of athletics and strong relationships with our students. I have no doubt he will do an outstanding job leading our boys' tennis program."
Coach Harrison’s passion for mentoring student-athletes and his dedication to Shawnee's mission of excellence in academics and athletics will serve the tennis program well as it continues to grow and compete.
