While the season isn’t over, last night marked our final home meet as we recognized the Shawnee Swim seniors who have made a lasting impact on this program. At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we proudly celebrated our Shawnee Public Schools Board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Month. 💙🐺 Students and staff from across the district came together to create meaningful gifts for each board member: plants from our Ag Department, heartfelt notes and cards, hand-colored pins, custom bookmarks, and so much more. Thank you to our Shawnee Board of Education members for your leadership, service, and commitment to our students, staff, and community. Last night, Shawnee’s Board of Education passed board policy FNG in response to Senate Bill 139, which requires all public school districts in Oklahoma to prohibit student use of personal electronic devices during the school day. Personal devices like phones, smartwatches, and earbuds must be powered off and put away during the school day. We’re not just turning off devices, we’re turning on learning.
