We have an exciting dress-up week planned from March 25th to March 29th: 🎵 Monday: Wear blue to celebrate the soulful "blues" music genre! 🎬 Tuesday: Show off your favorite movie, Disney, or cartoon shirt to honor music in the movies (or television)! 🇺🇸 Wednesday: Dress in red, white, or blue to celebrate patriotic music and our love for our country! 🎉 Thursday: Wear a holiday shirt (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) to recognize how music helps us celebrate special days throughout the year! 🌈 Friday: Wear tie-dye or a tie to symbolize how music ties and binds us together as a community! Let's spread the joy of music and express our creativity through fun and colorful outfits! 🎉🎶

Here's the dress-up schedule for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 📅 Monday - Community Spirit Day: Show your Shawnee pride by wearing our district colors - blue, white, and gray. Let's come together as a community! 📅 Tuesday - Cat in the Hat Day: Embrace the whimsy of Dr. Seuss and wear a hat or dress in the colors of the mischievous Cat in the Hat - red, white, black, or stripes. Let's bring the magic of storytelling to life! 📅 Wednesday - Read as a Team: Team up for literacy! Wear your favorite sports jersey or dress in the gear of your preferred team. Let's score big with the joy of reading together! And that's not all! 🍧 Join us on Thursday during recess for a cool treat - snow cones will be available for $2. It's a sweet way to wrap up our celebration of reading. Let's make Read Across America week a memorable and spirited occasion for all our Sequoyah students. The next Title VI Indian Education Parent Committee Meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m.​ at the Board of Education Building in the Board Conference Room at 326 N. Union St. Families of Native American students are encouraged to attend.

Hello Sequoyah Parents! We have Parent/Teacher Conferences this Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-7:00. We also have candy grams for sell ($3) and the money is due tomorrow. Wednesday we will have snow cones at recess for $2. We also have our Book Fair this week. No school on Friday and Monday is a Digital Day. Thanks!

Valentine’s Day is a special celebration at Sequoyah. We want our parents to be aware of the guidelines for student gifts. All gifts should be able to fit into a backpack (approximately 12 inches or smaller). For safety reasons, no glass (breakage) and no balloons (allergies, the safety concerns of balloons on school transportation and the distractions they cause to classroom instruction). Additionally, deliveries to classrooms will be limited due to distractions to instruction. Thank you for your understanding and please contact our office if you have any questions.

Hello Sequoyah Families! This Friday, February 2, is our 100 Star-Studded Days of School Celebration. Students can dress like a movie star or wear star clothing! We will have fun activities and Oscars will be given out. Thank you for your support in our award winning school year!
