Calling all creative minds and book lovers. It’s time to design your favorite bookmark and show us your imagination! We’re excited to host the Read & Scream Family Bookmark Contest as part of READ AND SCREAM: 10 YEARS OF FEAR!

*Pick up a bookmark contest paper in the SMS library after fall break or download one at this link: bit.ly/46QqMCp
* Design two bookmarks, one by the SMS student and one by the student's important adult.
* One entry per family.
* Submit your designs to the SMS library by 3:30 pm, Thursday, Oct. 23.
* Winners will have their bookmarks featured during READ AND SCREAM: 10 YEARS OF FEAR, a family literacy event at SMS, 5-7 pm, October 30th.

📵 Devices Off. Learning On. Last night, Shawnee’s Board of Education passed board policy FNG in response to Senate Bill 139, which requires all public school districts in Oklahoma to prohibit student use of personal electronic devices during the school day. Personal devices like phones, smartwatches, and earbuds must be powered off and put away during the school day. We’re not just turning off devices, we’re turning on learning.
