When school resumes on Tuesday, February 17, Shawnee Public Schools will begin a slightly adjusted daily schedule.

These changes help us make up instructional time lost to snow days while protecting scheduled breaks later in the school year.

We’re Back, Wolves! 🐺

Shawnee Public Schools will return to class on Wednesday, January 28! We’re excited to welcome our students back for a great day of learning.

Here’s what families need to know:
🔹 School starts at the normal time for car riders and walkers
🔷 Morning buses will run on a 2-hour delay (pickups exactly 2 hours later than usual)
🔹 Track your student’s bus using My Ride K-12
🔷 Main roads and school parking lots are clear, though some side roads may still be slick

Please note: Gordon Cooper Technology Center will not be in session on Wednesday.

As always, the decision to send your child to school is up to you. Thank you for your continued support as we prioritize safety and learning.

❄️ SNOW DAY UPDATE ❄️
Wolves, we’re calling it — NO SCHOOL Tuesday, January 27!

While streets are improving, our parking lots and sidewalks are still icy and not where we need them to be for a safe return. Our crews are working hard, but safety always comes first!

❌ No school
❌ No activities
✅ Extra time to stay warm, cozy, and safe

We can’t wait to get our Wolves back on campus soon. Until then, enjoy the snow day!

Howl if you love a Snow Day! ❄️🐺 Due to hazardous overnight conditions, including icy side roads and school grounds, NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Jan. 26.

Thanks to the City of Shawnee and our SPS teams for working toward a safe return.

At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we proudly celebrated our Shawnee Public Schools Board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Month. 💙🐺 Students and staff from across the district came together to create meaningful gifts for each board member: plants from our Ag Department, heartfelt notes and cards, hand-colored pins, custom bookmarks, and so much more. Thank you to our Shawnee Board of Education members for your leadership, service, and commitment to our students, staff, and community.
