Helping Students Succeed - Enrichment, Mentorship, and Tutoring

At Shawnee Public Schools, we know students succeed when they have the support they need. We offer a variety of support options for all our students - from the youngest to the oldest.
Tutoring opportunities are built in to the school day or offered after school hours.
Mentors from our community and our students themselves encourage our learners throughout their school journey.
A variety of enrichment options are available, too, such as our SPS Kids Afterschool STEM program for elementary students and our Summer Academy for learning beyond the regular school year.

SPS Kids Afterschool Program provides STEM enrichment to students at all Shawnee elementary schools.
Athletes from Oklahoma Baptist University volunteer with the Bison Buddies program to mentor students all our early childhood center, all elementary schools, and our middle school.
Community Renewal's We Care. Campus program provides meaningful mentorship for all ages of students.
Elementary students have opportunities to grow in leadership through service clubs and activities such as Honor Choir and Robotics Clubs.
Shawnee High School offers a variety of mentorship and service opportunities to students, including a Leadership Class, National Honor Society, Student Council, L.E.A.D. Group for 9th graders, Senior Leadership Council, and more.
SHS students have enrichment options by enrolling in a variety of Advanced Placement and college courses to earn high school and college credit.
Mentors for future careers offer SHS students internship opportunities that allow students to earn high school credit while receiving real-world career experience.
At SHS, Wolf Time is built-in time in the school schedule for students to either receive tutoring from their teachers or participate in a variety of enrichment activities.
Students are provided with ACT preparation within their courses and as a stand-alone class.
Shawnee Middle School students have opportunities to be mentors to their fellow students through National Junior Honor Society and Alpha Wolves.
