Shawnee High School is getting a new leader at the helm, and he’s bringing decades of experience and energy with him. Shawnee Public Schools is excited to announce Bobby Cook as the new Head Principal of Shawnee High School.

Cook steps into the role with an impressive and well-rounded background. He has served as a high school assistant principal, athletic director, and history teacher, and he’s no stranger to the field or the gym, having coached wrestling, football, baseball, and softball, both as a head and assistant coach. His career reflects a strong commitment to students, both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities.

“I’m honored to lead Shawnee High School and thrilled to be part of the Shawnee Public Schools family,” Cook said. “This is a special community, and I can’t wait to get to work alongside our students, staff, and families to build something great together.”

Cook and his wife, Tara, have been married for 20 years and are the proud parents of three daughters. A lifelong educator and team-builder, he’s passionate about creating a school environment where students are pushed to grow, staff are supported, and school pride runs deep.

Superintendent Dr. Jason James shared, “Bobby Cook brings a combination of leadership and grit that makes him a natural fit for Shawnee High School. He understands what it means to build culture, invest in people, and lead with purpose. We’re excited to welcome him to the Wolf Pack.”

Cook will officially begin his role this summer as the district prepares to launch the 2025–2026 school year.
