Shawnee High School senior Ja’Qwon Evans has officially signed to continue his football career at Oklahoma State University, marking a major milestone in a standout high school career defined by consistency, leadership, and hard work.

Evans, a four-year starter for the Shawnee Wolves, has been a cornerstone of the Wolves’ football program under head coach Jason Madonna. His dedication to the team extended beyond game nights, as he maintained 90% Summer Pride attendance for three consecutive years, demonstrating a strong commitment to preparation and team culture.

Throughout his career at Shawnee, Evans earned three district awards, culminating in being named 2025 District 5A-3 Lineman of the Year, a testament to his impact on the field and respect among coaches and competitors alike.

“Ja’Qwon represents everything you want in a student-athlete,” said Coach Jason Madonna. “His work ethic, consistency, and leadership set the standard for our program. Oklahoma State is getting not only a talented lineman, but a young man who understands what it means to show up and put in the work.”

Evans’ signing continues Shawnee High School’s proud tradition of developing student-athletes who excel both athletically and personally. As he takes the next step in his journey, the Shawnee community celebrates his achievements and looks forward to cheering him on as a Cowboy.

Ja’Qwon Evans will join the Oklahoma State University football program in the fall.
