Shawnee Public Schools is excited to partner with the University of Oklahoma Health Campus on an innovative research initiative called the Recharge-OK Program.
This project, funded by the National Science Foundation, is exploring how electric school buses with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology could help strengthen local energy resilience and support communities during emergencies. In simple terms, this research looks at how school buses could one day serve as backup energy sources for our community when they’re not in use.
As part of this work, we are inviting our families and community members to participate in a short survey. Your feedback will help researchers better understand current awareness, perceptions, and attitudes about:
Electric school buses
Energy resilience
Community preparedness
Emerging V2G technology
Survey Details:
Takes about 10 minutes to complete
Open to adults (18+) connected to Shawnee or the Recharge-OK project area
Available through April 30, 2026
Participants will be entered into a drawing to win one of 125 $10 Amazon eGift cards (one entry per completed survey)
You can access the survey here:
