Man and teenage girl in house chambers

December Nanaeto, a sophomore at Jim Thorpe Academy, served as a page during the ninth week of the Second Session of the 60th Oklahoma Legislature in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She was sponsored by Rep. Dell Kerbs, R-Shawnee.

Nanaeto, of Shawnee, is a 3.9 GPA student and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is actively involved in pom and tennis and is a pom state champion.

"It was a pleasure to have December at the Capitol this session," Kerbs said. "Students like her remind us of the importance of investing in education and supporting the next generation of leaders."

Nanaeto plans to attend the University of Oklahoma to study early childhood education. She also plans to attend Gordon Cooper Technology Center to pursue early education training. In addition to her academic goals, she hopes to work as a photographer while in college.

"December is an outstanding young woman who represents our community well," Kerbs said. "Her dedication to academics and her involvement in extracurricular activities show a strong work ethic and a bright future ahead."

The Oklahoma House of Representatives’ page program allows high school students to gain firsthand experience in the legislative process by assisting representatives and staff during session.

Release submitted by Rep. Dell Kerbs, a Republican, represents House District 26, which includes Pottawatomie County.
