The spotlight is calling! Our Shawnee High School Drama Department has been selected as a 5A Finalist for the Kelli O'Hara Outstanding Musical Performance Award for their performance of Urinetown and will perform at the OKC Civic Center on May 29. Congratulations to Shawnee High School Swim’s Tenielle Kidd on signing with Sterling College to continue her academic and swimming career! As a member of Shawnee’s state champion swim team, Tenielle helped set the standard for excellence in the pool while representing the Wolf Pack with dedication, determination, and hard work every step of the way. Shawnee Public Schools stood on the steps of the Oklahoma State Capitol for National Public Schools Week, joining public education leaders and advocates from across our state to celebrate and support public schools. Our students didn’t just attend; they represented. Shawnee High School student Jade Valentine addressed the crowd from the Capitol steps, reinforcing that student voices belong in conversations about education. Wolves Pom, Cheer, and Pride of the Pack performed with pride, and Jim Thorpe Academy students showcased the work happening at their site. Thank you to Representative Dell Kerbs for welcoming our students, providing a Capitol tour, and inviting them onto the House floor to experience the legislative process. Public schools are the backbone of our communities. This week was a reminder that advocacy matters, and our Wolves were proud to stand in support of public education across Oklahoma.

Congrats, Kaden! 🏈 We are thrilled to celebrate Kaden Bramlage on signing his football commitment to Garden City Community College! Your hard work, dedication, and passion on and off the field have paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud of you! Our Shawnee Wolves Jazz Choir had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the Shawnee Police Foundation Banquet. Our Wolves loved being part of an evening that celebrated the incredible men and women of the Shawnee Police Department and were grateful to be included in such a meaningful night of community and appreciation. We’re Back, Wolves! 🐺

Shawnee Public Schools will return to class on Wednesday, January 28! We’re excited to welcome our students back for a great day of learning.

Here’s what families need to know:
🔹 School starts at the normal time for car riders and walkers
🔷 Morning buses will run on a 2-hour delay (pickups exactly 2 hours later than usual)
🔹 Track your student’s bus using My Ride K-12
🔷 Main roads and school parking lots are clear, though some side roads may still be slick

Please note: Gordon Cooper Technology Center will not be in session on Wednesday.

As always, the decision to send your child to school is up to you. Thank you for your continued support as we prioritize safety and learning.

While streets are improving, our parking lots and sidewalks are still icy and not where we need them to be for a safe return. Our crews are working hard, but safety always comes first!

At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we proudly celebrated our Shawnee Public Schools Board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Month. 💙🐺 Students and staff from across the district came together to create meaningful gifts for each board member: plants from our Ag Department, heartfelt notes and cards, hand-colored pins, custom bookmarks, and so much more.
