Hello Sequoyah Families! Tonight the Shawnee Fire Department presents "Public Educating Clowns." It is a free event about fire safety. It will begin at 7:00 at the Municipal Auditorium at 401 N Bell Street. Refreshments will be served too.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Indian Education Parent Committee has postponed the outdoor Back to School Bash originally scheduled for Thursday. Predicted storms Wednesday evening may cause poor conditions in the AVEDIS park amphitheater. Indian Education advisors will communicate a new indoor location and date for the event. October 2-11 we are having Grade Level "Coin Wars" at Sequoyah to help raise funds for the Shawnee Educational Foundation, an organization that gives grants to teachers for classroom enrichment. Tomorrow is International Dot Day and we are asking our students to wear polka dots to school. We will also have fun "dot" activities in the classroom.
The next SPS Title VI Indian Education Parent Committee Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Rolling Hills Community Center, 2102 E Main St. We would love to see as many parents getting involved as possible. A meal will be provided as well.
