Due to icy side streets, slick sidewalks, and extreme cold, Shawnee Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 20th. All extracurricular activities are also canceled.
We’re eager to have everyone back, but safety comes first—not just on the roads, but for anyone walking on sidewalks and parking lots in these freezing temps.

Yesterday, we hosted EmpowerED, our district-wide professional development conference!
We kicked off the day with a keynote from Taylor Doe, who inspired us to embrace life’s And Then moments to empower our students.
From engaging math strategies to meal-prepping tips, our sessions were packed with ideas and energy! A big thank you to our staff and community partners who shared their expertise and led these sessions.
Special thanks to the Shawnee Area Ministerial Alliance for providing breakfast and much-needed coffee to fuel the day!
